A garage door that's serviced regularly runs quieter, lasts longer and is far less likely to fail on a Sunday night. A service is also the cheapest way to catch a frayed cable or a tired spring before it becomes an emergency.
Near the beach we suggest a service every six to twelve months. Further inland, once a year is usually enough.
When to call us
- The door has never been serviced
- It's getting noisier
- It feels heavier than it used to
- You've moved into a house with an older door
- You live close to the beach
How we do it
- InspectSprings, cables, drums, rollers, hinges, tracks, seals and the opener are all checked.
- Clean and lubricateTracks are cleaned, and rollers, hinges and springs are lubricated with the right products.
- AdjustSpring tension, opener limits and force are adjusted as needed.
- Test and reportSafety reverse is tested and you're told about anything that will need attention soon.
Near the beach?
This is where coastal homes get the most value. Salt builds up between services, and a clean and lubricate does more for a beachside door than anything else.
Servicing and maintenance questions
How often should a garage door be serviced?
Every 6 to 12 months near the beach, and about once a year elsewhere on the Gold Coast.
What does a service include?
An inspection of every moving part, cleaning and lubrication, adjustments to the door and opener, and a safety test.
Should I grease the tracks?
No. Grease in the tracks collects dirt and sand. The tracks should be clean; the rollers and hinges get a light lubricant.
